Deer Valley is a 2000 acre ski-only resort known for revolutionizing ski area service. Since opening in 1981 they have been committed to providing a level of care rarely found at a ski resort. Deer Valley delivers classic, consistent and quality service both on and off the mountain. Deer Valley was named the #1 ski resort in North America by readers of SKI Magazine an unprecedented five years in a row in the areas of service, dining, lodging, and grooming. This is why Deer Valley real estate is one of the most sought after areas in the Park City real estate market. Another claim to fame includes hosting the 2002 Winter Olympic games, a legacy that’s continued by hosting the Visa Freestyle International event every year.

In addition to skiing, Deer Valley Resort offers year round activities including mountain biking and  concerts. Also complementing Deer Valley’s 5 start resort and services are its numerous 5 star lodging options including the Stein Erikson Lodge, Montage at Deer Valley, and Lodges at Deer Valley. Overall Deer Valley offers a one of a kind first-class experience for guests.

Development

Deer Valley Resort is known for its forward way of thinking, it was one of the first ski resorts to have free parking-lot shuttles, complimentary ski gear valet and a state licensed child-care facility. Today this innovation continues, in 2015 Deer Valley Resort announced plans to build a $10 to $12 million dollar gondola connecting Deer Valley to Main street, facilitating the movement of skiers, employees, and tourists from the resort to the popular visits of downtown Park City. There are also plans in the works to add 1,000 acres of ski terrain and 5-6 new lifts with the possibility of new lodging and dining. Completion of this $50 million project will take about five years. Another major development has been the sale of the resort in August of 2017 to Aspen Skiing-KSL Capital Partners, this acquisition puts 13 of the top ski resorts in California, Colorado and Utah under one company.

Activities

Besides just skiing down the slopes at the main ski resort, Deer Valley offers an impressive range of activities.
